In the Basic Course we learn to use a carving knife. We make some two dimensional carvings such as leaves, and simple three dimensional flowers from cucumber, carrot, apple,  and/or rutabaga.  Teaching language is Finnish, but it can be supported in English.

After the Basic Course you can make, for example, these kinds of fairly simple carvings:

Fruit Garden has Basic Courses on its own premises (Bulevardi 48 A 24, Helsinki).  Course fee is 49e/person (inc alv). Cost of material and free use of knives is included in the price. Max. 5 persons. Participants can take away their carvings nicely set in a basket (click the two last pictures above). Basic course lasts 3 hours.

Group courses in a customer’s premises have recently become quite popular.  The price for a course is 170 e/group (inc alv). The teacher brings tools and material and they can be used without charge. The basic course takes 3 hours. One course can take 5-7 students.
